Prerequisites for ESPRIT 2006
The installation program verifies all requirements before proceeding. If the system does not meet
requirements, the installation will abort until the system complies. Existing users should review their
computer systems to be sure that they comply with the latest ESPRIT install and system requirements.
The following operating systems are supported by ESPRIT 2006:
• Microsoft

Windows

XP Service Pack 2 or greater
• Windows

2000 Service Pack 4 or greater
The following operating system components are required by ESPRIT 2006:
• Microsoft

Internet Explorer version 5.0 or greater
• Microsoft

.NET Framework version 1.1

Data Engine (MSDE)*
• SafeNet Sentinel drivers version 5.39 or greater

The following are the minimum hardware requirements for ESPRIT 2006:
• Intel Pentium
®
computer or compatible, 800 MHz or greater
• RAM requirements of a minimum of 256 MB, 512 MB or more recommended
• 32 MB video card capable of 16 bit color at 1024 x 768 and OpenGL rendering
• 1 GB of free hard drive space
• CD-ROM or DVD drive
• Mouse
• Parallel or USB port
•
Installation Instructions
Below are the installation instructions for ESPRIT 2006 based on your installation case. Please find the
case that most closely matches your situation and follow those instructions.

New ESPRIT 2006 Install
If you do not have any version of ESPRIT installed on the computer start the ESPRIT 2006 installation
program
after
you have installed these prerequisites in the following order:

The latest Windows service packs
2.
Microsoft
®
.NET Framework version 1.1
3.
Microsoft
®
Data Engine (MSDE)
4.
SafeNet Sentinel drivers

Upgrading from a Beta ESPRIT 2006 Install
Completely uninstall ESPRIT. Start the ESPRIT 2006 installation program
after
you have installed the
prerequisite below.
1.
No prerequisite installation required

Upgrading from ESPRIT 2005
Completely uninstall ESPRIT. Start the ESPRIT 2006 installation program
after
you have installed the
prerequisite below.
1.
The latest Windows service packs
•
Upgrading from ESPRIT 2003:
Completely uninstall ESPRIT. Start the ESPRIT 2006 installation program
after
you have installed these
prerequisites in the following order:
1.
The latest Windows service packs
2.
Microsoft
®
.NET Framework version 1.1
3.
Microsoft
®
Data Engine (MSDE)
4.
SafeNet Sentinel drivers
•
Upgrading from ESPRIT 2002 or earlier
Completely uninstall ESPRIT and all of its components. Start the ESPRIT 2006 installation program
after
you have installed these prerequisites in the following order:

The latest Windows service packs
2.
Microsoft
®
.NET Framework version 1.1
3.
Microsoft
®
Data Engine (MSDE)
4.
SafeNet sentinel drivers

Note: Microsoft .Net, MSDE and the SafeNet Sentinel drivers are all included on the ESPRIT 2006 CD
for your convenience; you will find them in the Prerequisites folder.
